Aside from business, women have also been making headway in politics, education, and science. Their work ethics and achievements have long proven that gender has no bearing on one’s competence and excellence. 

Every October, we observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month to spread awareness about a disease that takes away the lives of almost 21,000 women annually. However, this sort of cancer doesn’t discriminate and can also strike men, apparently. Hence, it’s not an exclusively female concern. 

Thus, it might be a good idea for your company to do its part this month in raising awareness and showing support to relevant initiatives for such a good cause.

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month started in October 1985 when a partnership between the American Cancer Society formed a partnership with the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries. 

Over the years, this partnership eventually grew to include medical organizations, government agencies, and non-profit organizations around the world. Together, they raise funds for research and educate women about the importance of early detection and regular screening. 

The pink ribbon has even become the iconic symbol of this movement. Some people also wear pink clothes to show their support throughout the month. So, don’t be surprised when your social media news feed turns pink at some point this month.
